Sky Deutschland merges into RTL+, creating a 12.4 million-subscription platform

Sky Deutschland merged into RTL+ on 11 August 2026, combining live sports, original drama and reality formats under one app. The merged platform holds 12.4 million paid subscriptions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. CEO Clément Schwebig called the deal "transformational" and positioned RTL as the clear number three in the German-speaking streaming market, behind Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
