Free diver finds 2,000-year-old Roman shipwreck with cargo intact off Sicily

Free diver Giacomo De Mola discovered a Roman shipwreck, believed over 2,000 years old, off Sicily still loaded with hundreds of amphorae — two-handled ceramic jars used to transport wine, oil and grain — the BBC and The Independent reported. The undisturbed cargo could reveal the ship's contents, destination and trade routes across the Roman Mediterranean.
