Jean Smart eyes first perfect acting Emmy sweep by a woman as Hacks ends

Jean Smart has won the Emmy for lead comedy actress for every eligible season of HBO Max's Hacks (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025). The series ended after its fifth season. A fifth consecutive win would make her the first woman to sweep an acting Emmy category across a scripted series' entire run. Only Bill Cosby has done it, for I Spy (1966–1968).
