Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was named royal patron of the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team on August 10, 2026. The charity, known as AFPST, supports wounded, injured, and sick military personnel and veterans through adaptive skiing, snowboarding, and Nordic disciplines. Sophie, 61, marked the role by skiing an indoor slope in Hemel Hempstead and trying target practice with a laser rifle.
