Kenya bids to bring World Athletics Championships to Africa for the first time

Kenya has submitted an official bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi, seeking to become the first African nation to stage the event. Government-backed, the bid proposes 48,000-seat Kasarani Stadium. Nairobi competes against London, Rome and Munich. World Athletics announces the host on 20 September.
