
King Charles gifts Sandringham wheat field to milliner after heat decimates straw supply
King Charles has gifted an entire field of Maris Widgeon wheat from the Sandringham estate to milliner Emily Hurst, who could no longer source the heritage straw after heatwaves and drought gutted British supplies. Hurst, trained at Highgrove, told BBC Radio 4 the situation was "surreal" and said the crop could yield hundreds of hats.
