Companies Raise More Money Outside Stock Markets Than on Them, Says LSE Executive

Companies now raise more money privately than by selling shares on stock markets, said LSE Deputy CEO Charlie Walker on 4 November 2025. UK regulators merged two listing tiers in July 2024 to make joining the London market easier. Walker says this is a lasting shift, not a prediction.
