Turnbull says Australia will probably never get the AUKUS submarines

Former PM Malcolm Turnbull told an inquiry the AUKUS submarine deal will probably deliver nothing. He says the US builds 1.2 subs a year but needs 2.3 for itself, and US law stops any sale that makes that shortage worse. No spare subs, no handover. He called trusting the deal "stark staring bonkers."
