
AI Investment Fund Pours $400 Million Into Secret Chip Startup After Cutting Its Portfolio In Half
Situational Awareness, an AI-focused investment fund founded by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, invested $400 million in Source Foundry, a secretive chip-making startup led by Stanford researchers. The move came days after the fund sold most of its publicly traded holdings to Citadel, cutting its assets from $20 billion to $10 billion. Its total Source Foundry investment now stands at $500 million.
