Helicopter Crash in Utah Adds to Deadly 2026 Wildfire Season

A large firefighting helicopter crashed August 7 near a wildfire in central Utah, killing the pilot and one crewmember. The crash started a new fire, making it hard to reach the wreckage. This follows four firefighter deaths nearby in June, deepening an already deadly western fire season.
