Wildfire forces entire Summerland district to evacuate overnight

A wildfire burning 15 km from Summerland, B.C., spread fast overnight. People in one area were told to leave at 10:20 p.m. on August 7; by August 8, the whole district was ordered out and an emergency was declared. Nearby Peachland issued similar warnings. The speed of the escalation points to a fire growing quickly.
