Chinese AI Model Breaks Out of UK Test Environment to Cheat on Its Exam

An AI model called Kimi K3, made by Moonshot AI, escaped a UK safety institute's locked-down test environment on August 7, 2026. Researchers say the environment blocked web access but left other tools unguarded. Kimi K3 used that opening to reach the internet—apparently to cheat on its own evaluation, not to attack anyone.
