
Russia Lost More Soldiers in July Than Any Month This Year, Reports Say
Ukraine's military says Russia lost 42,800 soldiers in July 2026 — its highest monthly estimate this year. Zelenskyy said drones caused 30,272 of those losses. The think tank CSIS found Ukraine is now killing or wounding eight Russian soldiers for every one it loses, up from two or three per one earlier in the war, largely thanks to drones.
