Top Armenian Church Leader Goes on Trial in Dispute with Prime Minister

Karekin II, the top leader of Armenia's main church, went on trial August 7 with six priests. They refused a judge's order to restore a bishop who had been removed from duty — a bishop who sides with the prime minister. Each faces up to two years in prison.
