Hacker Who Broke Into 165+ Companies Pleads Guilty

Connor Moucka, 26, pleaded guilty in Seattle federal court to computer fraud, wire fraud, identity theft, and conspiracy. Using stolen passwords that lacked a second login verification step, he broke into 165+ customers of the cloud company Snowflake, including AT&T and Ticketmaster, stealing billions of records. He collected $2.5 million in ransom and $500,000 selling data online. Sentencing is October 27; he faces up to 32 years.
