Ousted Leader Says She'll Return to Bangladesh Despite Death Sentence

Sheikh Hasina, who led Bangladesh until a 2024 student uprising forced her from power, says she will return from exile in India by December 2026. A court sentenced her to death while she was absent for the killing of up to 1,400 protesters. Bangladesh's government says she would be arrested on arrival.
