Amazon-Owned Zoox Will Start Charging for Driverless Taxi Rides in Las Vegas

Zoox, owned by Amazon, will begin charging for rides in Las Vegas on August 10, 2026 — its first paid service. The taxis have no steering wheel or pedals. A federal exemption allows this and limits the fleet to 2,500 vehicles over two years. Rides remain free in San Francisco and Austin.
