Court Rules: When AI Tools Follow User Instructions, Developers Aren't Responsible for Accessing Other Companies' Computers

A federal appeals court cleared Perplexity's Comet browser shopping tool, which Amazon tried to block. The judges said when a browser acts on a user's instructions, the user—not the software's developer—is the one visiting another company's computers.
