A third of students failing basic skills test — again

The national skills test for 1.2 million students found one in three can't meet reading, writing and maths standards — the same as last year. Reading scores dropped in years 5, 7 and 9. One in ten need extra help. A computer glitch hit the writing test; Tasmania's results weren't published because too few students sat it.
