Iran and Oman Negotiate Control of a Key Oil Shipping Route

Iran and Oman are talking about a temporary shipping lane through the Strait of Hormuz — a narrow waterway where much of the world's oil passes. Iran says things won't go back to how they were before the war. The US and Europe want Oman to accept a deal Oman fears would let Iran control the route permanently. Iran's new supreme leader hasn't appeared since war injuries.
