Overcrowded Migrant Boat Flips in English Channel — Everyone Rescued

A small rubber boat carrying 173 people — the most in one Channel crossing attempt this year — flipped on 4 August after its engine caught fire near France. British and French rescue teams saved everyone aboard. Eleven people had minor injuries; three went to hospital in Boulogne. All passengers were brought back to France. Seven migrants have died crossing the Channel in 2026.
