An area roughly the size of 28,000 football fields has burned across the UK in 2026. Farmers, firefighters, and politicians from different parties want a temporary ban on throwaway barbecues in England and Wales. Big supermarkets already limit sales on their own, but small shops and websites still sell them. Right now, no law kicks in automatically when drought hits.
