
Work and Income staff faced 1,700-plus lockdowns as guards face the chop
Official figures show Work and Income staff faced more than 1,700 lockdowns over five years. The ministry wants to cut 22 guard jobs across regional offices, after cutting 20 in March. MSD says $80 million in security upgrades makes centres safe. Union spokesperson Fleur Fitzsimons says incidents are underreported and the cuts should stop.
