UBS Fined $125 Million for Repeat Money-Laundering Rule Violations
FinCEN, the U.S. anti-money-laundering agency, fined UBS $125 million on August 3, 2026, for repeatedly failing to properly track foreign currency transactions. The same firm paid $14.5 million in 2018 for similar failures. FinCEN called it "historic" — the largest-ever penalty against a broker-dealer under the Bank Secrecy Act.
