Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis stopped blocking Todd Blanche's pick for the nation's top law enforcement job after he wrote an order ending a Justice Department fund. Both parties had criticized the fund over possible payments to people who stormed the Capitol on January 6. A Senate committee was set to vote that same day.
