Can the UK make Apple weaken its phone security for everyone?

Apple is challenging a UK government demand to read British users' private iCloud messages. The request, made in October 2025, excluded US accounts. But Apple's security works so that creating a way in for one country would weaken protection for everyone. The question: can Britain force a US company to lower its security worldwide?
