German Party Wants Cancer Survivors to Keep Their Diagnosis Private

Germany's SPD party proposed a law letting cancer survivors keep their past diagnosis private. After about five years of being healthy, banks, insurers, and adoption agencies could no longer ask if someone once had cancer. This would affect 5.5 million Germans. Insurance companies oppose the plan, saying they need health history to set fair prices.
