Peace Board Changes Plan: Hamas Must Give Up Weapons Before Israel Leaves Gaza

After meeting Netanyahu in West Jerusalem on August 3, the US-led Board of Peace reversed its earlier plan. Instead of having both sides act at the same time, Hamas must first surrender all its weapons and destroy its tunnels. Only then will Israeli forces leave Gaza. Hamas says it won't cooperate unless Israel keeps its promises. The change lets Israel decide when to withdraw.
