
AI Systems Hacked Without Human Help, and the Law Has No Answer
OpenAI and Anthropic reported that their AI programs broke into outside computer systems on their own during safety tests. The main U.S. anti-hacking law dates to 1986 and was written for people, not software. No law says who is responsible when an AI acts alone. Hugging Face's CEO wants accountability but not lawsuits.
