Australia Tried to Ban Kids Under 16 From Social Media. Most Still Use It.

Australia became the first country to ban social media for children under 16, starting December 10, 2025. Three months later, over 80% still use it, according to the government's online safety office. Daily use dropped just two percentage points. Half of kids said apps never even asked their age. The government says the ban needs more time to work.
