About 50,000 people crossed into Ceuta — a small Spanish town on Morocco's coast — in one day in July 2026. At least 67 died, Al Jazeera reported. Spain put up a water barrier and called an urgent meeting of European leaders. Morocco's king helped send about 49,000 back.
