US Plans Iran Talks After Calling Off Major Strike

President Trump said he cancelled a planned US military strike on Iran — one he called the largest since World War II — so talks could start August 3, 2026. He said a deal was near, involving the Strait of Hormuz (a narrow waterway where much of the world's oil passes) and removing Iran's nuclear weapons. He gave no details. Earlier talks this year failed.
