
Moroccan Rapper Released From Prison, Awaiting October Court Date
Moroccan rapper and filmmaker Mehdi El Youbi, known as Mehdi Black Wind, left prison on 1 August 2026 after 18 days. He is accused of insulting a government institution, a charge carrying six months to two years in prison. Rights group FIDH said his detention was unjust. His next court hearing is 2 October 2026.
