Explosion in Colombia days before new president takes office

A truck packed with explosives blew up next to a police station in Cucuta, Colombia, on Saturday, wounding eight officers and three civilians. No group said it was responsible. Several armed criminal groups operate near this city close to the Venezuelan border. The attack came six days before President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella — who has promised to shoot down drug planes — takes office August 7.
