EU Will Require Labels on AI-Made Content Starting August 2026
Starting August 2, 2026, the EU requires companies to label content made by artificial intelligence — text, images, video, and audio that look real but aren't. Think of it like a nutrition label, but for digital content. Fines reach €15 million or 3% of global sales. The rules come from the AI Act, agreed December 2023. Older AI systems get four extra months. Green MEP Lagodinsky called them "customer protection and democracy protection."
