Sony's Gaming Profit Rises 37%, But the Cause Isn't Stronger Sales
Sony's gaming division earned $337 million last quarter, up 37% from a year earlier. The gain came from US tariff refunds and favorable exchange rates, not better business. PS5 console sales fell from 2.5 million to 1.6 million units, and first-party game shipments dropped by 900,000. PlayStation monthly active users rose 2 million to 125 million.
