Ukraine Calls Self-Operating Weapons the New Nuclear Threat

Ukraine's Deputy PM Mykhailo Fedorov told the New York Times that "autonomous weapons are the new nuclear weapons." By autonomous weapons he means machines that can fight on their own using AI. Fedorov says Ukraine needs them to counter Russia's bigger army. He wants allies to feel the urgency, though how to control such weapons remains unsettled.
