Court Decision Stops Quick Migrant Returns, Sparking a Rush into Spain's Ceuta

Spain's top court ruled in July 2026 that migrants caught at sea can't be quickly sent back to Morocco. That had been a fast way to turn people away. Spain's Interior Ministry says smuggling groups are now using the ruling to send more people to Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa. Up to 3,000 migrants crossed in ten days. Police called it an explosion.
