
Three Federal Reserve Officials Break Ranks in Rare Show of Disagreement
Three Federal Reserve officials voted against keeping interest rates — the cost of borrowing money — unchanged on July 29, 2026. They all wanted rates raised to fight rising prices. Prices were climbing 3.7% over the year, well past the Fed's 2% goal. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh admitted prices have stayed too high for years.
