330,000 People Flee Wildfires in France and Spain

Fires across France and Spain have forced 330,000 people to leave their homes as of July 30, 2026. France has already burned more land than in any previous year — and August, usually the worst month for fires, has not started. Spain declared an emergency on July 24 and broke its own record for number of fires.
