Japan's Stock Market Falls 8 Days in a Row
Japan's main stock index, the Nikkei 225, closed at 61,434 on July 29, 2026, down 1.49% — its eighth losing day in a row. Since July 17, it has dropped about 2,707 points, or 4.2%, with no up days. Reuters blamed a global tech selloff and Middle East conflict. The decline hasn't stopped yet.
