Microsoft Is Replacing Its AI Partners With Its Own AI in Everyday Apps

Bloomberg reported on July 7 and 15, 2026, that Microsoft is swapping AI from OpenAI and Anthropic for its own AI in apps like Excel and Outlook to save money. Microsoft is also training its salespeople to compete against those same two companies, despite owning partial stakes in both.
