Microsoft's Anthropic Investment Soars $3.2B While OpenAI Stake Drops $600M

Microsoft's latest quarterly results included a $3.2 billion gain on its Anthropic investment — originally $5 billion in November 2025 — and a roughly $600 million loss on its OpenAI stake. The Anthropic gain added 33 cents per share to earnings; the OpenAI loss cut 7 cents. Overall earnings were $4.81 per share on $90 billion in revenue.
