Britain's top gardening group moves plants north as the climate warms

Britain's Royal Horticultural Society is moving heat-sensitive plants like hydrangeas from southern England to cooler northern sites in Manchester and Yorkshire. At the same time, warm-climate plants — figs, almonds, even bananas — are thriving in gardens where they could not survive ten years ago. The reason: England's climate is warming, changing what grows where.
