Standard Chartered Buys Back $250M More of Its Own Shares
Standard Chartered said on 29 July 2026 it will buy back $250 million of its own shares, adding to a $1.5 billion plan from February — over half already done. A share buyback reduces the number of shares outstanding. The bank's core revenue — interest earned on loans minus what it pays depositors — rose 3% to $1.71 billion.
