Government says no to fireworks ban despite 100,000-signature petition

The Government will not stop shops from selling fireworks to the public. A group of MPs from across Parliament looked at three petitions signed by nearly 100,000 people and recommended a ban in April. Fire services, the SPCA and vets all wanted fireworks banned. The SPCA's Dr Arnja Dale said she was "profoundly disappointed" by the decision.
