Florida Executes Two People on the Same Day

Florida executed James Duckett, 68, and Dominick Occhicone, 80, hours apart on July 28, 2026. No U.S. state had done two executions in one day since Arkansas in 2017, and Florida had not done so in 60 years. Governor DeSantis chose to schedule both dates together — nothing required it. The Supreme Court turned down both men's final appeals that same day.
