Palestinian woman loses unborn baby after delay at Israeli military checkpoint
On July 28, 2026, Israeli soldiers held an ambulance for half an hour at a military checkpoint — a roadblock used to control movement — near the Palestinian town of Nablus. Soldiers turned off the engine, which cut power to medical equipment, and searched everyone inside. A six-month-pregnant woman's unborn baby died before reaching the hospital, the driver told Wafa news agency. The roadblock was part of a wider military operation launched July 25.
