eBay to Pay $56 Million to Settle Harassment Lawsuit Over 2019 Campaign

eBay and former executives agreed July 28, 2026 to pay $56 million settling a lawsuit by Ina and David Steiner, a Massachusetts couple who run the newsletter EcommerceBytes. In 2019, eBay employees sent them live spiders, cockroaches, a bloody pig mask, and a funeral wreath. Former CEO Devin Wenig pays $2 million; eBay covers $46.15 million. Seven employees already faced criminal convictions.
