Argentina's president claims foreign governments funded a campaign against his country at the World Cup

After Argentina lost the World Cup final to Spain, President Javier Milei said the US Democratic Party and the governments of Brazil and Mexico paid for a campaign to undermine Argentina. He said it used racism claims and conspiracy theories about FIFA, soccer's global governing body. Mexico's leader Claudia Sheinbaum called the claim false. Milei blamed "progressive minds" opposed to freedom.
